How do I make a blog? A lot of people find my blog trying to find out how to start a blog of their own. Starting your own blog is hardly technical and is actually very easy – even if you’ve never made a website. Here is the easy step-by-step guide to starting a blog.
First, to start your own blog you need to buy a domain name (for example, MyBrandNewBusiness.com). I buy my domains from DomainShoe.com which is basically a cheaper version of Godaddy ($11.99 regular price .com web addresses). You can get .com domains for $8.49 there.
If you just want one domain, you might still be able to get a free domain name using one of my two recommended webhosts for blogging. I highly recommend you choose either the $56 FatCow Plan for webhosting (this is a very good deal) or iPage Web Hosting with Free Domain Registration
. The $56 plan is probably the cheapest way you can start a blog. I believe if you get that deal you might even get a free year of domain name registration with it.
For those of you wondering the cheapest way to start a blog, that $56 plan is probably unbeatable.
Don’t let anybody try to tell you that you need anything else to start a blog because you don’t. A domain and webhosting are all you need.
To start your blog, just edit the domain name servers (DNS) to point to your webhost. For example, change the DNS to ns1.fatcow.com and ns2.fatcow.com in your domain name control panel.
Next, just add the domain to your webhosting control panel (just click add domains).
Third, install a blog on your domain using WordPress blog software.
That’s it! You’re done and ready to start your blog in about 15 minutes!
